Postures of a Transformed Life

Text: Ephesians 6: 10-20

SIT - Our Position in Christ

Ephesians 2:6
A Posture of Status

  • We are seated with Christ in the heavenly realms.
  • Before we live for Christ, we must live from Christ.
  • Our identity is received, not achieved
  • We rest in what Christ has done for us.

WALK - Our Practice in Christ

A Posture of Obedience
We live out our identity by how we walk. Ephesians highlights seven walks:
Two to avoid:

  • Don’t walk in Worldline ( Eph. 2:1-2 ) - Living according to sinful desires
  • Don’t walk in Vanity ( Eph. 4:17 ) - Empty thinking without God.

Five to Embrace:

  • Walk in Good Works ( Eph. 2:10 ) - You are created for a purpose.
  • Walk Worthy of Your Calling ( Eph. 4:1-3 ) - With humility and unity.
  • Walk in Love ( Eph. 5:2 ) - Imitate God’s love in Christ.
  • Walk in Light ( Eph. 5:8 ) - Live differently in a dark world.
  • Walk in Wisdom ( Eph. 5:15 ) - Be intentional, not careless.

STAND - Our Protection in Christ

Ephesians 6:10-18
A posture of a Warrior
We stand firm against the enemy with the full armor of God:
• Belt of Truth dash; Living with integrity.
• Breastplate of Righteousne dash; Guarding your heart with holiness.
• Boots of the Gospel of Peace dash; Ready to share the message.
• Shield of Faith dash; Trust that protects against lies.
• Helmet of Salvatio dash; Security in your identity.
• Sword of the Spirit dash; The power of God’s Word.
• Prayer dash; Constant connection to God.

KNEEL - Our Posture Before God

Ephesians 3:14-21
A Posture of Surrender and Strength

We pray with Humility
We pray with dependency
We pray with intimacy
We pray Expectantly

Let us sit confidently in Christ, walk daily in obedience,  stand firmly in the battle, and kneel humbly in prayer. These postures define the transformed life.
