God Invites You to Know Him

Text: Exodus 34:5-7

Introduction:

What you think about God is the most important thing about you.

I. God Reveals His Near Presence ( Exodus 34:5 )

II. God Reveals His Gracious Character ( Exodus 34:6 )

• Not only is He present, He is patient and compassionate
• His love is covenant love–loyal, steady, undeserved.
• Your view of God should begin here–not with what you’ve done, but with who He is.

III. God Reveals His Just Judgement ( Exodus 34:7 )

• He forgives iniquity and sin, but will by no means clear the guilty
• His mercy and justice are perfectly balanced
• The cross of Christ shows how justice and love meet–sin punished, sinners forgiven
