Find Your Place

Text: Romans 12:1-8

  1. Present Your Body

Romans 12:1  “Therefore, brothers and sisters, in view of the mercies of God, present your bodies as a living sacrifice…”

  • I present myself as a living sacrifice—fully alive to God.
  • I live as one who is holy and pleasing to God.
  • I worship God with the way I live my life.

  1.  Renew Your Mind

Romans 12:2  “Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind…”

  • I will not be conformed to the world –
  • I will intentionally renew my mind.
  • 2 Cor. 10:4,5 “since the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but are powerful through God for the demolition of strongholds. We demolish arguments 5 and every proud thing that is raised up against the knowledge of God, and we take every thought captive to obey Christ

  1.  I Will Recognize My Place

Romans 12:3–5  “As in one body we have many members… so we, though many, are one body in Christ…”

  • I will not think too highly of myself; instead, I will focus on what God can do through me by faith.
  • I will not compare myself to others; instead, I will see myself as vitally connected to the body.
  • I will not isolate myself; instead, I will embrace my place as one member contributing to the whole body.

  1. I Will Exercise My Gifts

Romans 12:6–8  “Having gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, let us use them…”

  • As I exercise my gift, the body will be strengthened.
  • Gifts unused are gifts wasted; gifts used are gifts multiplied in my life and in others.
  • God calls me not only to discover my gifts but to deploy them for His glory.
  • Let’s pray this:
  • I present my life to God as I reject my old ways:
  • “Lord, I give You my life today as a living sacrifice. Help me to turn from my old ways and live fully for You. I offer my thoughts, words, and actions as worship to you.”
  • I renew my mind by focusing on my new identity in Christ:
  • “Heavenly Father, renew my mind and help me to focus on who I am in Christ by taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ. Let Your truth shape my thoughts, my choices, and my perspective each day.”
  • I recognize my place in the body of Christ, choosing to team up and move from isolation to participation:
  • “Lord, help me see my place in Your body. Help me to step out of isolation into participation working alongside others to build up Your church and accomplish Your purposes.”
  • I release my gifts, trusting that God will touch others through my service:
  • “Father, I surrender my gifts to You. Use them to serve others and bring Your love, grace, and transformation into the lives of others. May my service honor You and strengthen Your kingdom.”
