Seek First Stress Less
Text: Matthew 6:25-34
-
Why do we stress?
- Distraction by the world
- Money and the cost of living
- Health concerns
- The future of society and politics
- Safety and security
- Relationships and loneliness
- Weak or misplaced faith
- “O you of little faith.”
- It happens when:
- We focus more on our problems than on God
- We trust our ability more than God's provision
- We believe the future depends entirely on us
- Worry grows when our faith shrinks.
-
What Does Jesus Want Us to Know?
- Life is more than the things we worry about (v.25)
- Your Father values you greatly (v.26)
- Worry cannot fix anything (v.27)
- Worry:
- Doesn’t solve problems
- Doesn’t extend life
- Doesn’t create solutions
- It only steals joy and drains strength.
- God is able to provide what you need (vv.28–31)
- God already knows what you need (v.32)
- Tomorrow is not your responsibility (v.34)
