The Kingdom of God Now and Then


  1.  The Kingdom Calls us to Enduring Faith ( Matthew 13:24-30; 36-43)

Matthew 26:41  "Watch and pray that you may not enter into temptation."
Romans 13:11-12  "It is already the hour for you to wake up from sleep..."
1 Thessalonians 5:6  "So then let us not sleep, as others do, but let us keep awake and be sober."
1 Peter 5:8-9  Be alert because your adversary the devil prowls around.

  1.  The Kingdom Grows Beyond What We Can Imagine ( Matthew 13:31-35)

Zechariah 4:10  “For who despises the day of small things? These seven eyes of the Lord, which scan throughout the whole earth, will rejoice when they see the ceremonial stone in Zerubbabel’s hand.””
Philippians 1:6  “I am sure of this, that he who started a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.”

  1.  The Kingdom is Worth More Than Everything Else ( Matthew 13:44-46)

Philippians 3:7–8  “But everything that was a gain to me, I have considered to be a loss because of Christ. 8 More than that, I also consider everything to be a loss in view of the surpassing value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. Because of him I have suffered the loss of all things and consider them as dung, so that I may gain Christ”
Psalm 73:25  “Who do I have in heaven but you? And I desire nothing on earth but you.”

  1. The Kingdom brings Certain Justice ( Matthew 13:47-52)

Hebrews 9:27  “And just as it is appointed for people to die once—and after this, judgment—”
"Then the righteous will shine like the sun in the kingdom of their Father. He who has ears, let him hear." ( Matthew 13:43)
